I went looking for halal food for Muslims because this Indian place was the closest one to our hotel. But I’m unsure about its halal status. There’s a large Buddha prayer altar inside the shop, and when I greeted one of the Indian staff with “asalamualaikum,” he seemed nervous replying to my salam. So I have doubts about whether it’s halal. As Muslims, though, we can eat their vegetarian set.

The rooms are large, bright and spacious, and it’s a good location near the beach. There’s a nice spot on the sixth floor to have a beer or enjoy the view. My one downside was dealing with some reception staff, since their English isn’t very good.

I’ve stayed here many times and would come back if I need a hotel room in Da Nang. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff and managers are nice, and the value is very good.

I spent most of my first three days in Da Nang recovering in the room after food poisoning in HCM. It was a little old, and a few things such as the TV didn’t work, but it was comfortable enough. The hotel is mostly quiet, despite the busy Korean restaurant across the road at dinner, and the beach is about a 20-minute walk away. Once I felt better on the fourth day, I rented a bike from the hotel and happily rode around. I could leave it in the lobby whenever I got back. Receptionist Huyen speaks some English, and we could have whole conversations with a little help from Google Translate. I enjoyed our chats. Everyone I met on staff was polite and friendly, but Huyen’s ready smile and lively banter always cheered me up, even after the lady boss reprimanded her in front of me. Ouch! I asked for a kettle once, but the hotel didn’t have one. They said I could get hot water from the staff room whenever I wanted. I didn’t fancy the hassle and figured I’d drink cold water that day. Then Huyen showed up at my door with the biggest hot water flask I’ve ever seen. Later, the cleaning lady noticed I washed my own clothes and quietly slipped a small packet of detergent in with my toiletries. Little thoughtful gestures like those made this a five-star stay for me.

The prices are very good, and the rooms are clean and in good shape.
