L'Heritage Riverside Hoi An

The Heritage Riverside made for a lovely stay for our family group, and we’d happily come back. The staff were fantastic and attentive to anything we needed. Breakfast was great, with plenty to choose from, and the pool was well cared for. Our room had a comfortable bed and just-right pillows, with a lovely design. Across the street there was a beautiful water view. I especially enjoyed the outdoor shower and soaking tub under a retractable roof. You could open it to the sky, and even on a rainy day, it was cozy to soak while hearing the raindrops.

We spent four nights at L’Heritage over New Year. Its position between the busy Hoi An old town and the pleasant riverside was a good compromise. The building seemed fairly new, was well maintained and clean enough, and the pool looked clean despite the rain during our stay. Our biggest day-to-day issue was the size of the room. It was exceptionally small, as was the bathroom. We were meant to have a triple, but with a queen bed and a single there was barely room to move or open a suitcase. We ended up squeezing into one bed and using the single as luggage space. Breakfast also disappointed us for both its quality and variety. We travelled with another family and booked two rooms in one reservation through bookings. At check-in, we found we’d been charged different amounts for two supposedly identical rooms next to each other. The front desk first argued that the rooms were different types, which didn’t feel professional. Eventually they accepted that one room had been charged more and corrected what they called their mistake. Starting the stay that way broke our trust and made the rest of the experience feel uneasy and unprofessional.

Breakfast by the river was a lovely way to start the morning, and there was an egg station where you could ask for the kind you wanted. We also used the spa and booked a treatment, which we enjoyed. I’d absolutely recommend it. We stayed four nights at L’Heritage Riverside and loved it. The walk or bike ride along the river to the old town is short, so it was easy to get there while staying far enough away from the noise. Everyone at L’Heritage was cheerful, friendly and attentive. We went to L’Heritage for two nights in mid November 2025, mainly because we wanted to stay by the river and see the floating lanterns. Recent heavy rain and flooding had submerged the riverside walk, which made getting to and from the hotel a bit challenging. Travel is always an adventure, though! The quieter spot suited us: it’s away from the main tourist area but still an easy walk or bike ride to the main market, with many local restaurants nearby. The hotel looked after us so well and made the stay very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly, doing what they could to make things pleasant. Our deluxe double room with a balcony looked over the pool and river, and had lovely French colonial design details. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and the bathroom’s walk-in shower was welcome after coming in from the rain. We had the buffet breakfast, with a nice range of Western and Asian food, juices, coffee, tea and detox water. You could also ask for an omelet, scrambled eggs or boiled eggs. If we return to Hoi An, we’d stay here again and recommend it to friends.
