Vy made the stay special. She runs the place brilliantly, and breakfast was included. For lunch or dinner, we ordered in the morning so she could get food from the market and prepare it. The resort food was good, though you can also cycle out and perhaps have lunch elsewhere. She lent us bicycles for our second and third days, which are pretty essential for exploring an island about 6 km long and 4 km wide. We met lovely, friendly locals along the way. We booked three nights through Facebook after finding the resort in Vietnam Coracle. The ferry from north of the mainland cost 5k each, then it was a short five-minute walk. We were there in mid-April and had the resort almost to ourselves, apart from another couple arriving the morning we left. After cycling around for two days, we were also the only foreigners we saw on the island. The villas were clean and charming, and the separate open-air bathroom was an experience in itself. Don’t expect luxury, though. There’s wildlife around the resort, apart from inside the villas, including ants, lizards, mosquitoes, and cicadas. The villas didn’t have WiFi, so after dark you’re mostly back in your room. Bring a book, or download things while you’re at the bar area, where the WiFi is good. Kayaks were still available and free. We spent our time swimming, enjoying the sun and the quiet. The resort has changed since the 2019 article we read, probably affected by Covid and some flooding. I would have liked to see it then, but I’m glad we experienced it in 2026. I hope it keeps going and attracts independent travelers looking for this kind of place. Thank you, Vy.
