Phuc An Homestay

Na and her family were so lovely and helpful throughout our stay at phuc an homestay. We had everything we needed in the really spacious room, and breakfast was great value. It’s a short walk to everything you need to see. We also booked a last-minute trip through Na, which was brilliant, and it was easy to message her on what’s app if we had any concerns. Na’s dad is the sweetest man on earth. I wish we could’ve taken him home with us!

The rooms were a good size, clean, and well maintained, and the family running the place were incredibly nice and helpful. I planned to stay three days, then extended it to a week. It’s on the edge of the bizz, about a 200 Meter walk to get there, so you can enjoy the quiet again when it’s time for bed. I’ll visit again.

We were disappointed after arriving with high expectations from the good reviews. At check-in, we were told the water system in our room was broken, so we’d have to spend one night at the owner’s uncle homestay and return the next day after it was fixed. We were okay with that, but when I asked to leave our several heavy bags in the room, she immediately said no, which seemed really bizarre. The next morning, an email said they still couldn’t fix the water and we had to stay there another night, paying at checkout. I replied clearly that I wasn’t happy paying for a place we hadn’t planned to stay, and asked if they had another room. Hoi An was really quiet, and we’d seen people checking out when we arrived. They told us to come talk in person, and when we did, they surprisingly had a free room with a working water system. Breakfast was okay, but overpriced for what it was. We waited 40 minutes for two pancakes. Laundry was also overpriced at 40k/1kg, when we found it for 25k/1kg around the corner. They also rent bikes. We had to pay full price for the first night even though we didn’t stay at the homestay. A free breakfast or small discount would’ve been much appreciated. I’ll look elsewhere next time I’m in Hoi An.

The family running this place was so friendly, and I had a great stay. My room, the upstairs one in the photo, was very comfortable, everything was clean, and the wifi worked really well. It’s much cheaper than the other guesthouses nearby, right in the centre of everything.
