Resort Villa Orchid Garden Riverside

It's about a 15-minute walk to the old town, which suited me since things get especially busy there in the evening. At the riverfront, you can watch the boats with a strong cocktail. The rooms are huge, beautifully furnished and spotless, and the pool was lovely after a warm day in town. Breakfast was nice, especially the banana shake and banana pancake. Nguyen and the team were so helpful with day trips, taxis and laundry. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Loved it!

The manager and staff were friendly and shared plenty of local knowledge, which made our first time in a foreign country less stressful. The gardens were lush and well kept, with blooming orchids, and the place had a home away from home feel. We were there for 10 nights. On the first night we were put on the second floor, even though I'd specifically asked for and been promised a ground floor room. The next day they quickly moved us into ground floor interconnecting rooms, one for me and one for my teenagers. There was lots of space, separate bathrooms, a well-equipped outside kitchen, a TV for downtime and other home comforts. The free bikes were handy, and the teenagers loved night rides by the river under the locally made Hoi An lanterns. By the middle of the stay, it felt like home. I was taking plates back to the kitchen and sharing Australian snacks we'd brought. The staff even tried Vegemite. We were there over Christmas, and the manager took a Polaroid of us in the morning. By that afternoon, she'd given it to us with treats for the teenagers and some lovely words about our stay. Such a small thing, but it meant a lot. Breakfast was a mix of traditional Hoi An food and other options, and we'd never eaten so well in the mornings elsewhere. It's a small boutique hotel with a family feel. If you're after five-star luxury, this isn't the place. If you want convenience, friendly people, air conditioning, privacy, a great spot by the rambling river near attractions and good local food, plus thoughtful touches, this is the place. We'll be back.

Everyone was warm and welcoming, and I felt really cared for throughout my stay. The place was comfortable and lovely, and the whole experience was better than I expected. The staff were so thoughtful that they surprised me with a birthday cake and a Christmas card. I highly recommend it!

Villa Orchid is far enough from the busy area to feel peaceful and relaxing. The grounds and pool are beautiful, with lush greenery all around that makes it feel like an oasis. When we checked in, the staff brought us delicious mango smoothies and a banana pancake. The free breakfast was delicious too. It's an incredible place to stay in Hoi An, highly recommend!
