Sepon Blue Hotel

Being so close to the beach made it easy to head to the seaside whenever we wanted. Our room was tidy and well cared for, with a lovely view of the water. The whole stay felt comfortable and peaceful, and the service and atmosphere were great. I’d recommend it for a quiet beach break.

The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, but the stay was frustrating from the start. Communication was difficult because nobody seemed able to speak English, so we had to translate everything. In the room there were just two tea bags and no coffee, unlike the hotel we had stayed at in Hanoi. When I asked for milk, the receptionist said they had none, and there was no sugar either. Not everyone can drink tea plain. They should have offered tea and coffee, one packet of each, and kept coffee sachets in the room for people like me who drink it. One cupboard hanger was broken and had to be replaced after we called reception. The hair dryer also needed a call to get it working, and there were lots of mosquitoes. We were given only two small water bottles and told to refill them at the bubble-top dispenser near reception if we wanted more. We were staying three nights and four days, and already wondered what other unpleasant surprises were coming. They didn’t seem to take service requests seriously or respond properly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to friends or family. Breakfast was included, and on our first morning we went down at 7:15. There were only two bananas left. Another couple asked for some too, and a woman said they’d run out. There weren’t enough cupcakes either. A large family had taken some, and by the time we went for them they were gone. When we asked, she said both the small and large cupcakes had run out. It felt like anything you asked for was already finished.

The rooftop gives a 180-degree view of Da Nang, and the hotel is handy for both the beach and Dragon Bridge, which are walkable. There’s a supermarket next door for everyday things, tea, coffee, and chocolate. Our room was spacious, including the bathroom, and had a window view. The twin lifts meant we never had to wait. We stayed two days and had a great time, though the pool wasn’t working during our visit. Food was average, and you had to ask what each dish was; vegetarians might have a hard time. Everything else was fantastic.

Requests were met with excuses, and the service was really poor. They wouldn’t even provide the usual two small bottles of water a day, and there was no room cleaning. Quite a few things in the room didn’t work properly either. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
