The Samson Boutique Hotel

The staff were lovely, and my room was clean and had a TV, fridge, and storage space. Shampoo was provided and there was hot water. The bed was soft, fluffy, and clean too. For what it costs, I thought it was worth it. I'd like to come back.

The bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and they left fresh towels and water every day. The location was great, and someone was at the desk around the clock if we needed help. Still, I came away with mixed feelings, and I'm usually not fussy about hotels. The biggest issue was privacy. Twice, staff knocked to ask if they could show our room to a future guest. I said no and suggested they use the Agoda photos, but he kept pressing. My partner was in a business meeting, and I wasn't comfortable with it. There'd been no warning. I eventually gave in and regretted it when they walked in and saw our messy room. We were also given the wrong room at check-in, so check it against the Agoda photos. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow and sometimes stopped working altogether. Balconies are shared, and we woke in the middle of the night to a drunk man from the next room standing in ours and looking at us. The bathroom fan didn't work, and the thin walls and doors let us hear other guests yelling all day. If you're there in July 2023, there's likely to be loud construction all day too.

0/10. I'd booked and already paid for a room, then my mom and I traveled hundreds of miles to Da Nang only to be told they had no rooms left. The receptionist said it was our responsibility to call ahead and confirm. They should have told me they were out of rooms instead of blaming me. I had to wait half an hour to speak with the manager before the receptionist refunded my money. It was fireworks night, so finding somewhere else to stay was a real struggle. This hotel was heartless and irresponsible. I'll never book here again. 0/10.

It's a simply furnished room but has what you need. The host and receptionist were really supportive and helpful. The beach is only a 500 meter walk, and there's a good mix of restaurants and grocery shops nearby. I'd probably come back on another trip to Da Nang!
