Pi Hostel Dalat

I stayed on the boutique hotel side, so I can’t speak to the hostel. Our huge room had huge beds, a balcony and a nice view, and the location was great. There was a list of rules, but we had no problem with them. It wasn’t noisy for us, despite what others have said. If you stay at a hostel, you’re going to get hostel type people, if you know what I mean. The front desk lady was extremely attentive and tried to find solutions for the services I was looking for. She helped us with our domestic flight too, and gave us accurate information that they didn’t care about last names and we didn’t need to fix the ticket. She was very friendly and made the stay much better. Breakfast could use improvement. It was kind of a joke, but good enough for eggs, fruit and juice. They gave us a coupon for a western brunch spot. We didn’t try it, but I understand why they recommend it.

The staff were so polite and friendly that we felt welcome the whole time. They also helped us out of a little mishap, and saved our lives twice, once almost literally. The room was super clean and the breakfast was actually quite nice. We had a lovely stay!

I’m extremely disappointed with how Pi Boutique Hotel handled my confirmed reservation and changed its policy afterward. I first made a valid one-night booking through the OTA Trip.com, which accepted and confirmed it. I then contacted the hotel directly with my dates, arrival time and check-out plan. During the consultation, quote and confirmation, no one mentioned a minimum two-night weekend stay. I paid a deposit as instructed to secure the room. Only after all that, when I was finally able to rearrange my schedule and asked to shorten the stay, they told me I had to stay at least two nights or cancel the booking entirely. The minimum-stay rule was only communicated after the booking and deposit were complete. Trip.com still allowed a one-night reservation, suggesting poor alignment between the policy and the system. I followed the process in good faith and communicated clearly, but was forced to accept new conditions or cancel. The hotel offered a refund, but this isn’t about money. It’s about a serious lack of transparency, inconsistent communication and no accountability for confirmed reservations. Guests put time, planning and trust into a booking, and a refund doesn’t make this handling acceptable. Future guests should think carefully, since you don’t know if you’ll be next.

The staff were friendly, very helpful and fluent in English. Breakfast was the same every day, though. It would be useful to label each item and give it its own serving utensil in case of food allergies.
