Anh Linh 2 Hotel

It’s an established hotel overlooking the River. The rooms were clean, though the bathrooms looked a bit tired. There was secure bike parking underneath, even if security insisted on moving everything around. English was limited, and payment had to be in cash. Some of our group were woken by someone knocking at 7.30am and insisting it was checkout time. We had no idea why. For food, turn right as you leave the hotel. I walked about 10 minutes to Oregano Pizza, and it was well worth it, delicious. There are plenty of hotels along the riverfront. This one was okay and about right for the £12 price. Renovations were underway in Nov '24, but the jackhammer stopped at 5pm as promised.

The sea view from the top-floor restaurant was gorgeous, and the receptionist was really helpful. Breakfast was okay, and housekeeping did the job. For the price, the location works, about 400m from the walking street and 1.4km from the beach. I wouldn't book lunch or dinner there, though. The food was expensive for what it was and not tasty.

We spent one night here to rest before our cave trip to Phong Nha. It was a comfortable stop, with a clean, decent room and accommodating staff who found us a nice room. The hotel sits between views of the river on one side and the ocean on the other.

I walked in without a booking and got a room on the 10th floor, with a lovely view across the bay and sea. The room was spacious and very clean, especially for such a good price. Breakfast was included upstairs, where the view was great too, and the food was tasty. I'd happily recommend this place if you're in Dong Hoi.
