Plum Homestay

The food was tasty, and the staff were a big help. I stayed here while riding the Ha Giang loop and loved the unusual rooms and the views. Would recommend it.

The bugs in our room were the only downside, though being up in the mountains, I wasn't sure what else to expect. I loved the room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a really good time here, and it was one of my favorite stays on the loop. I'm surprised by some of the low reviews.

The food was good, but that's about the only thing I liked. Compared with our Milk Milk homestay in Yen Minh, Plum had no atmosphere, and the people weren't especially friendly. There are better homestays in Dong Van. At dinner, the person taking our order tried to sell us too many dishes. The food was also expensive compared with the rest of Vietnam, and we ended up paying too much for far more than we wanted. We also sent our laundry through the homestay, and I realized too late that my AirPods were in my pants. The next day, the same person called the laundry company to ask about them and told us they weren't there. We passed the laundry place about ten minutes later, and suddenly the AirPods were there. I don't want to accuse anyone, but based on my other experiences with people in Vietnam, I drew my own conclusions. I don't understand why Plum averages 4.5 stars.

I was exhausted when I arrived from cycle touring Vietnam, and the staff made sure I had everything I needed. They were remarkably helpful, and I can't thank them enough. The dinner was very good, with wonderful scenery around us. In the morning, they had filled all my water bottles with fresh, clean water. Highly recommend.
