Yen Bien Luxury Hotel

The breakfast spread was a real highlight, with plenty of Asian and Western dishes, fruit, baked goods, and fresh omelettes. I also slept wonderfully in the king bed. The room had lovely views, and the bathroom and bathrobes felt high quality. Such a great place to stay before or after the loop.

Ha Giang itself was a pleasant surprise, beyond just the loop. The location seemed like the best in town, and my room was bright, well equipped, and had a nice view. It was really spacious, with an excellent bed. I remember this as one of my most pleasant hotel stays in Vietnam. The hotel keeps things simple rather than pretentious, while still getting everything right for a comfortable stay.

We stayed both before and after the Ha Giang loop, and the hotel kept our luggage for free. They even refrigerated our medicine for the four days we were away. The staff at reception were efficient, and I loved the breakfast. The room and bathroom were spacious, with a stunning view from the 10th floor. Laundry dropped off before 4pm came back before 9pm, which was very helpful. On weekend evenings, food stalls open in the square next door, and there's convenient underground parking for bikes.

Loan went out of her way to help us, and we really appreciated it. They kept our medicine in a fridge and stored our luggage free while we were away doing the Ha Giang loop for four days. The laundry service was very good, and the huge underground garage made it easy to park our motorbikes overnight. The hotel is upscale and close to a local square and lots of restaurants. One annoyance: there was no bar service at the pool, and I had to find pool towels in the laundry on the same floor.
