From bed, we could watch boats heading out across the bay, and the view was amazing. The bed was super comfortable, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the price and location made a great combination. The port is only a five-minute walk, so it's a perfect place to stay before taking a boat around Ha Long bay. Really glad we found it. Try for a room on a higher floor.

The passenger ferry to Cat Ba island is just about a 40-second walk away. The place is lovely and very clean, with a great view over the harbour and surrounding islands. The hot shower was powerful too.

The rooms are clean and very nice, with distant views of Halong Bay, and you get a lot for the low price. The cafe makes tasty smoothies. I accidentally knocked over my watermelon smoothie and spilled it across the table, but the staff were incredibly sweet, cleaned it up, and made me a replacement for free. I'm really grateful.

We paid about $24 USD for one night, which was okay for the price. The building's a bit run down, and the area felt like a ghost town with hardly any restaurants or anything around. Our room was basic and a little musty; the shower never got hot, and the toilet didn't look clean when we arrived. There was extremely loud karaoke or something at night, then music from loudspeakers at 7am. I wouldn't stay again, though it could work as a cheap stop on the way to a cruise.

Breakfast was Pho-bo with fresh mango, and the rooms were clean with a nice view. The staff only spoke basic English, but they were friendly and could communicate using a phone translator. Thank you.
