The Light Hotel

The rooftop pool offered a beautiful view and made a great place for photos, while my room itself didn’t have much of a view. The pool area could use a little more care, but that didn’t spoil an enjoyable stay. The rooms had been newly renovated and were clean, cozy, and well maintained. My bed had a good-quality, comfortable mattress. The owner and staff were welcoming and helpful, and the quality was clearly worth more than the price. I’d happily recommend this hotel.

The rooms were great, and the staff were nice and helpful. But we showed up for breakfast at 8:15, with service ending at 9:00, and almost all the food was gone. They didn’t refill the bread or other basics, even though we asked for a simple breakfast.

They let us check in early, and we booked our Ha Long Bay cruise tickets directly through them. The hospitality was good, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was great. They also offer bikes at a low price through reception, and said no international license was needed.

The staff were welcoming, the rooms were nice, and the pool area had a great view. Breakfast was very basic, and the tea and coffee weren’t hot. I wouldn’t let them book things for you, as they don’t understand what westerners need. We arranged a transfer to Hanoi through them, and it was the worst one we’ve had. We were also told it would be the best cruise on halong Bay, but it was so crazy we never left the boat. Maybe it was because we went off season, but I think it was a waste of hard earned money. 🤔
