It’s a good hotel, which makes the booking problem especially disappointing. I reserved through Booking.com after checking that the facilities I wanted were listed, but the room I was shown didn’t have them. Hotels and OTAs should check their listings properly, since mismatches like this are likely to cause trouble. A poor check-in experience can also leave a bad impression, and I imagine other guests may be disappointed the same way.

The beds were comfortable, and the front desk staff tried to help, but the place has seen better days. The balcony was unsafe because a section of railing was missing. Breakfast was disappointing too: the fried rice was very dry, and there was no coffee in the breakfast area. Coffee was somewhere else, with no staff around at first. When a woman finally came, she took my order confidently, then took an astonishingly long time to bring a coffee that wasn’t what I’d ordered. Edit: I’ve just learned my friend paid for that coffee this morning. In all the 1500+ hotels I’ve stayed in around the world, this is the first that hasn’t offered coffee at breakfast. Is that terrible, or something special enough to visit for? You decide.

The materials feel a bit old, but the restaurant is clean and breakfast is free. Room prices are reasonable, there’s plenty of parking, and the staff are polite.

It has a friendly, family-run feel, just on a slightly bigger scale. The staff are very welcoming, and the rooms and linen were clean. Still, you can see the hotel’s age in a few places.
