An Trang Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the fridge was stocked with bottled water. They also arranged an early departure for me. But there were no rose petals at reception, the sheets weren't clean, and the mirror was dirty. The towels were stained, and breakfast even came with a small fly swatter.

The family who run this place were friendly. The receptionist and her husband even helped us book a bus to Hanoi, and they appreciated that we checked in at 6 am. Breakfast is included in the good price, and the room was spacious and clean, with towels, toiletries, a kettle and cups. It's tucked away on a quiet little street, where the roosters are the only sound in the morning. The room smelled a bit musty, so the ventilation could be better. A small sitting area downstairs would be nice too.

During the off-season, it costs just 10,000 KRW a night. Trang Toàn Motel works like a guesthouse, with a dining area where you can cook your own meals, and free motorbike rentals. The young woman who owns it is friendly and provides excellent service. If you're planning a trip to Cat Ba and want to keep costs down, I highly recommend it.

The room is decent for the price, and the owner is friendly, easygoing and enthusiastic. One thing to know: Google Maps has the wrong address. The correct one is No. 6, Lane 5, Nui Ngoc Street, Cat Ba Town.
