3T Hotel

The location was handy, close to Railway Street and within walking distance of Old Town. The room, though, was not acceptable. We knew before booking that it had no window and little space, but we hadn’t expected mold covering the walls. Mold can be harmful, and the hotel should properly clean the walls and ceiling. Guests shouldn’t be put in that condition. We stayed three nights. After we asked for the room to be tidied on the second day, they didn’t leave bottled water, so we had to fetch it from the front desk. That didn’t feel considerate. Wi-Fi barely reached the room, and breakfast was very limited, with only five hot dishes to choose from. We ate there on two mornings and skipped it on the last day. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

For a solo traveler like me, this was a very good option. My room was small but cozy, with a comfortable bed and clean facilities, and the staff responded quickly when I needed help. It’s near both the city center and the railway road, so I could walk to lots of places. Rooms were around 700k-1M VND per night. I’d come back if I get the chance to visit Hanoi again.

The check-out was frustrating. I had a driver waiting and a tight schedule, but they still made me wait while someone inspected the room. They also charged me for snacks even though my Agoda booking said they were included. I’d booked because the hotel was advertised as being in a quieter district, but there was noise outside on the first night, like construction, until about 11 p.m. I also found a hair in the bathroom when I arrived, which made me question how clean the room was. I didn’t mention it then because the rest of the stay had been fine up to the check-out charges. Breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful for most of the visit. After checking my booking again, I noticed I was supposed to have a City View room but got a Courtyard View instead. The booking also promised potable water, but only two small bottles were provided for the whole day. The noise, cleanliness issue, room view, water, and check-out handling all affected my stay.

It’s a pretty good value, with free breakfast included and most major tourist attractions within walking distance. The room is small, and there’s a little mold on the bathroom wall.
