The bed felt damp, possibly because of the air conditioning or mold, and there were stains on the table and walls. The room was dirty and smelled strongly of mold, and it didn’t resemble the pictures at all. We ended up finding another hotel. The staff member, who may have been the owner, kept pushing tours through the hotel after we’d politely said no. The checkout and refund process felt very suspicious. We’d booked three nights but had to pay for one, and the receptionist or owner took my phone and did something on booking.com that stopped me from leaving a review there. I couldn’t see what she was doing, which felt really uncomfortable. She also insisted I use my own data or Wi-Fi while she worked on my phone, which seemed unnecessary. A very poor stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff and management at the Ambassador hotel were so helpful and kind. They shared great recommendations and knew what places to visit and book. It was my first time in Hanoi, and I’d say this hotel is a must stay. The room was good too, and I’d come back.

The breakfast fruit was good, though I was a little disappointed with the Eggs Benedict, which didn’t have the sauce or parsley they said it would. The bed wasn’t very comfortable either. When we arrived there was no hot water, but the lovely receptionist came to help and got it working after a couple of minutes. She was so sweet and efficient. We only stayed one day.

This was one of my worst hotel stays in Hanoi. We booked Ambassador Hotel Hanoi well ahead, but after we arrived we were told our room was no longer available because they had extended another guest’s stay without discussing it with us or letting us know. That ruined our first day’s plans. Instead of checking in and starting our itinerary, we spent hours sorting out a place to stay. The hotel arranged another one, but it was extremely dirty and far below the standard of the original booking. We still had to pay for it ourselves, even though Ambassador Hotel caused the problem. The way it was handled was unprofessional. Staff member “Thanh Mai” was rude in messages and made an aggressive video call during the dispute. While this employee represents the hotel, I wouldn’t recommend staying there. If zero stars were possible, I’d give zero.
