The good parts were the location near restaurants, a great night view, a wonderful Pho Ga restaurant on the ground floor, and quiet nights. The area generally felt safe. That said, the maintenance really needs work, and I hope the service improves so more customers can trust the place. When it rains, rooms can flood and leave wet floors while you’re out. There’s no parking space, but they still charge a parking fee, and staff aren’t welcoming. After a month of leaving a bike on the street uncovered, it may have problems. The laundry area is untidy and unhygienic: staff sometimes wash dirty rugs in the same machine as the bedding, and they don’t clean the washer or dryer. Water isn’t available at 6am or 6pm, and the pressure is always weak. Burned-out stair lights aren’t replaced. Garbage bags get left in the elevator with guests, and the rooftop is messy, with broken scraps, an old toilet, and garbage. The place isn’t properly maintained, there’s old, broken furniture, and morning noise from a nearby car shop. The staff didn’t help when I raised issues. Weigh the pros and cons before booking. This is just our experience, but if the positives suit you, you can decide for yourself.

The only thing I appreciated was being allowed to cancel right away when it was clear I was unhappy. I spent only about three minutes in the room, but it smelled strongly of mold. I’m going to include photos, and if anyone thinks their privacy is affected because they appear in them, I’m willing to delete them. The parking situation turned into an argument. The listing said parking was available, but I was told to park on the street. That part was fine by Vietnam standards. What got strange was being told again and again that my parking wasn’t good enough and that I might hit another car. I’d already re-parked three times, then asked in Vietnamese, “How many times do you expect me to redo the same thing?” I was pressured to pull onto the sidewalk and eventually got scolded. I was visibly frustrated, so they called a third party to mediate. During the argument, the parking attendant got emotional and hit my car. If it had been a rental, I’d want to know who would be responsible for the damage. I’ve never before left a one-star review over a past experience, but this was shocking. The listing on the booking site was wrong, clearly the hotel’s fault, and there are reasonable limits to how someone can park on a street. I feel bad writing this because I know hotel owners and staff work hard, but this really happened, and I hope others don’t go through the same thing. It’s unpleasant to post, but I felt I needed to share it. One person’s outburst can ruin the good image of Vietnam, and I can’t recommend this kind of behavior. Sigh, now I have to find another hotel today.

The apartment had the equipment shown in the ads, but it looked nothing like the polished, spotless pictures online. The walls were dirty, the bathroom needed a serious scrub, and the furniture was very cheap Formica that was barely holding together. There weren’t fancy pillows or pictures on the walls, either. There’s a guard sitting on a plastic bench, but no service desk. In dollar terms it’s cheap, sure, but for the price by Vietnamese standards, there are much cleaner and nicer places. This is exactly why filters, edited photos, and fish-eye lenses should be regulated.

The apartment was recently renovated, so it was spotless. It’s very close to Hanoi city center, and we had a parking spot. Inside, the furniture was new and it had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. The bathroom was just as clean, with new sanitary equipment.

I had a great time here. The staff were nice, the room had everything I needed, and it was cleaned often. Loved it.
