The rooftop dining area had a 360-degree view of Hanoi, and there was a small pool, about 10 m x 5 m, for cooling off. The lake was only about a two-minute walk away, with plenty of cafes, eateries, shops, and bars nearby. We spent four nights at Tirant, 4-8 May, in an Executive Suite with balcony booked through Flightcentre. Check-in with Ken was seamless, and he always used our names. The bed was very comfortable, with supportive pillows, and the bathroom had ample room for two to get ready. Breakfast had a great range of Eastern-style and Western-style choices, eggs made to order, plus plenty of fruit and pastries. There were plenty of seats with city views. The dining manager, I think his name was Chester, greeted us with a smile and by name each time, and the service staff were very good. We’d definitely stay again.

The breakfast was okay, though there weren’t many vegetarian choices. We booked an Executive room on the top floor, and the room itself was excellent. The location was nice, just a few minutes from the lake, and the top floor had a good lake view.

The Skyline Bar at the top may have the best view in the city, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Tirant Hotel is in a perfect Old Quarter spot: plenty of tourists, but plenty more locals just going about their lives. Street level is busy and noisy, though a room a few floors up was fine. I was really happy to end up here.

I’ve stayed here twice, several nights each time, and it’s definitely my first choice in Hanoi’s old quarter. The hotel is near Hoàn Kiếm Lake and right in the hub of the area. It’s vibrant and pretty at night, then busy early in the morning with people exercising and doing t’ai chi. The room, pool, restaurant, and staff were excellent. It’s been the highlight of my trips to Hanoi, Vietnam.

The welcome tea was amazing, and the lobby was always kept beautiful and tidy. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and helpful, and they really took care of us. The hotel arranged airport transfers for a fee, which was so convenient, and laundry was available at a good per-item rate. Great location and service, a perfect place in the heart of Hanoi. We enjoyed the room and our stay, and we’ll return and recommend it to other travelers.
