Hestia Legend Hotel

The listing photos gave a very different impression from the actual place. Our room was spacious, but dated, and its only window opened onto a covered atrium, so ventilation was poor. Staff often smoked and chatted below it, and smoke came into the room. I asked reception to address it. They apologized and, I think, dealt with it, since nobody smoked there on our last day. They also offered a free ride within Hanoi, though my cousin was asked to rate them before the booking was confirmed. It seemed like they regularly asked guests for good ratings. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean, but there was a lot of dust under it when we looked for my cousin’s missing reading glasses. Luckily, none of us had allergies. Reception staff were nice, but I felt the rest of the team could use more training.

Nu made me feel valued, contacting me soon after I booked and being warm and chatty. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and fairly quiet for somewhere in the city centre, and it’s good value for the location. The decor let it down a little, with marks and dents on the walls and mould in the bathroom grout, though it was fine for a boutique style place. Without Nu’s lovely service, I’d have given it three stars. I’d recommend it if you want an inexpensive, comfortable city centre hotel.

We ended up extending our stay twice, which says a lot. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were great, and I loved having a bathtub. Breakfast was the best I had in Vietnam, with lots of choices, fruit, and amazing pho. The staff were a 10+, better than I could have asked for. This was our favourite hotel in Hanoi. If you get the chance, don’t hesitate to stay here.

The staff were open and friendly, always glad to help with whatever we needed. The location is ideal, close to the old city, bars, restaurants, and street food. Our room was clean and well equipped, with a nice bathroom. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and offered plenty of variety. Highly recommend this place in Hanoi.
