Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag. You order the night before rather than help yourself at a buffet, and it only runs from 7 to 9 in the morning. Our dishes arrived at different times, so we couldn't really enjoy the meal, though once you know what to expect, breakfast itself is a nice experience. The location is on a fairly quiet local street outside the busy old quarter. The bed was comfortable and the TV was good, and the woman at the front desk was friendly and helped us sort out a few issues. There were several problems too. We checked in to the wrong room, which had no window. They moved us after we asked, but we'd paid extra for a “city view” and expected that room from the start. Staff were gathered around the desk when we arrived, acting like schoolchildren. Nobody greeted or welcomed us, and they asked for our passports, then held out the card machine without explaining the cost. The room was missing most of the listed amenities, including a kettle, mugs, and toilet paper. The bathroom smelled bad, and its window wouldn't close, so we heard the city all night. After about 30 seconds in the shower, the plug blocked up and water flooded across the bathroom floor, leaving a stagnant pool that was both a slipping hazard and unhygienic.
