This is a simple, peaceful hostel in the middle of the Old Quarter, and a good fit if you want somewhere quiet instead of a party hostel. The staff are very friendly, and the rooftop, with its plants and night market view, is peaceful too. There’s one large shared bathroom, but it hasn’t been a problem: during my two weeks here, I’ve seen at most six guests in the whole hostel. They have three friendly poodles, a very affectionate roof cat, a big lizard, and a coral snake, all kept in tanks, of course.

The owners really make this family-run hostel special. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and help with questions. It’s very clean and perfectly located in the Old Quarter, with the bus stop for the airport not far away on foot. Recommended!

I spent a week here, and it was by far the best hostel I visited in Vietnam. The location is excellent, it’s super cheap, and the breakfast is good. The hosts and staff are friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful. I highly recommend staying at L'Etage House!
