La Nueva Boutique Hotel Ha Noi

Being close to Hoan Kiem lake made it easy to walk to the places we wanted to see. We could also take a Grab from the hotel or catch a bus to destinations outside the Old Quarter. The rooms were clean and comfortable, regularly serviced, and looked just like the photos. The staff were wonderful from breakfast through the restaurant and even when seeing us off in a taxi. Receptionist Lily seemed ready for every question or need we had and went above and beyond. A really special hotel.

The rooftop bar is well worth a visit, with good drinks and a spectacular view. We also tried the spa, and I had one of the best massages of my life. Breakfast was a treat each morning, from an American-style breakfast to delicious beef pho. The rooms were spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was ideal for exploring Hanoi. Most of all, Jenny made us feel part of the La Nueva family from check-in. She went out of her way several times to make sure we had what we needed. She even walked us to the Water Puppet show and helped us buy tickets. The La Nueva is beautiful, and the staff deserve more than five stars. For great service and food, I’d recommend staying here.

Jenny at the concierge desk made our arrival after the Ha Long drive lovely, greeting us with cold tea and wet towels. We wanted to see the Thang Long Water Puppet show that evening, so she walked us to the theater and bought our tickets. We paid, of course, and she found a rate half the online price. The room was spacious, with good WiFi, air conditioning and plenty of hot water. The rooftop bar had a great view and fair prices, even for mixed drinks. My wife had a full-body massage, and I had a foot and leg massage at the spa. Both were the best we had in Vietnam. The La Nueva Boutique Hotel is a great place to finish a trip, with Hoan Kiem Lake’s northeast corner no more than a three-minute walk away in the Old Town.

The tour-organizing lady was lovely to deal with, but booking our overnight train through the hotel caused a problem: at the station I had to pay for another ticket. I’d probably arrange activities and transport somewhere else. The location is exactly where you’d want to be in Hanoi, and the breakfast is very, very good. Our room was hot because the air conditioning didn’t work the whole time, which was rough with my wife and three kids. Apart from that we enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in average condition, so don’t expect luxury, but definitely get breakfast.
