La Renta Center Hotel & Spa

Avoid booking here. We asked to check in two hours early, but the receptionist wanted an extra $15. There’s no elevator, so hauling our luggage up to the fifth floor was exhausting. The bathroom was clogged and smelled persistently foul, making it unpleasant and unusable, and the rooms were unacceptable. With the poor service, missing basic facilities, and unclean rooms, I found this stay extremely disappointing.

We paid 18€, which felt far too expensive for what we got. The room was disgusting, with flies coming out of the sink, a broken shower, mold, and smelly towels. A club next door shook the rooms with music until 5AM, and the response to our complaint was ridiculous. We just wanted to sleep. When we asked to leave and get a refund, they said no because we'd already checked in. I asked how I could know at 6pm that there'd be music in my room. After I got angry, they offered either 200,000VND back or a 50% refund if we left. That wasn't acceptable. Really avoid this place!

The location is good and the rooms are spacious, but the stay was still frustrating. There’s no elevator, so I had to carry my luggage up six flights of stairs. The staff also claimed early check-in would cost extra even though rooms were available on other floors, which felt like an attempt to scam me. The receptionist was unprofessional and unhelpful. On the sixth floor, Wi-Fi was nonexistent, and when I complained, the receptionist kept switching the router off and on as if hoping I'd give up. I was eventually moved to the fourth floor, but the service didn't improve. Water supply was inconsistent too.

The club right beside the hotel made the night unbearable. From 10pm until 5:30am, loud music came through and the strong vibrations were enough to move our beds. Earplugs probably wouldn't have helped much. When we asked staff about it, he told us to wait for the morning staff and said the club would close at 3am. We had to go out because we couldn't stand it any longer, and only got a little sleep at 6am. At noon sharp, staff knocked on our doors to tell us to leave, though they knew we'd had such a short night. The room wasn't very clean at first. The photos clearly showed a window, but our room had none. The shower was broken and the TV didn't work either. I could have given this place a zero. Avoid it if you need to sleep before 5am.
