Melia Hanoi

I stayed five days and enjoyed the facilities. The location is excellent for walking around the old town, and taxis and Grab cars are easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable, check-in was smooth, and the staff were well trained. The buffet breakfast was excellent and worth the $20/day charge. Room service was adequate, and the concierge was great at holding luggage, though the advice was so-so. The spa wasn’t busy, and I really enjoyed the pool.

The service was the best part of a perfect stay. Our child got sick, and dr. Hoa, Hong Linh, and Tung Do gave us so much help. It’s easy to feel well cared for when everything is fine, but they really looked after us when we needed it. Thank you so much for the attention and support. The rooms were very good, and breakfast was excellent.

The Garbo Bar was the highlight for me. Khang was quick, efficient, and fun to talk with, while Manh shared some of his own drink preferences and explained Vietnamese drinking culture. That made the drinks more interesting, and we even cheered together over one of them. Tinh also told me about her ten years working at Melia, which was lovely to hear. Oanh deserves a special mention too. She was warm and sweet throughout my stay, kept me company, and was quick to bring finger food while I was drinking. Her genuine, caring energy made me feel at home and made the visit much more memorable. The hotel has a useful business center for things that are annoying to do on a phone. It’s an older place but still has its charm, and my room was clean and tidy. I didn’t use breakfast or the lounge, but Tu, the friendly young woman in the lounge, showed me around anyway. The location is central, so most places are quick to reach. Everything was smooth from the start. Mr. Doan checked me in politely and explained my Gold membership benefits clearly. Huong and Quynh helped with all sorts of requests, including transferring money to my SIM and planning things around the city. Bellman Huy was kind and patient, and even looked up old train schedules with me. I really enjoyed my stay at Melia Hanoi and would happily return.

Tung Do kept in touch over WhatsApp throughout our trip and sent us fantastic recommendations. From check-in onward, he was attentive and ready to help with anything, and his genuine care made our visit much better. When we mentioned my wife’s birthday, he surprised her with a cake without us even asking. That kind of hospitality made our stay at Melia Hanoi wonderful. Thank you, Tung Do. We can’t wait to come back!
