The neighborhood felt very local and different from the main tourist center, with local shops, restaurants, and shopping malls nearby. The hotel itself was clean and quiet, and the reception staff were lovely and friendly. I had to change rooms three times for different reasons. The beds were easily the hardest I’ve ever slept on, like a concrete slab with a sheet and no cushioning. Hard beds may be common in Vietnam, but these were on another level. Even my Vietnamese friend couldn’t stay with me. I also found it a little expensive compared with local equivalents, though overall it was a nice stay.

The service is what made Mely Hotel stand out for me. The staff’s commitment to hospitality made my stay better than I expected, and it’s one of my most memorable hotel stays in any category. The hotel itself is an average three-star place, about 7.6 km from the city centre in a lively commercial and residential area. Public transport is nearby, and it’s an affordable option. Thanks to the team at Mely Hotel. I stayed from 22/1/26 to 6/2/26.

The rooms are good and the staff are nice, though their English is so-so. I paid 280000 dong through Agoda, and I think the walk-in rate was about 300000 for single occupancy. It’s around 7 km from Hanoi Old Quarter, but a good place to relax. There’s an Old Quarter feel here too, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. I’d stay here again instead of in central Hanoi.

The price is reasonable, but maintenance has been poor. I’ve stayed here three or four times, and on different visits the door, the hot and cold water, and the air conditioner were each broken.

My Agoda booking was confirmed and the payment had already gone through, but the owner said there were no rooms. He offered a room only if I booked outside Agoda. There were several other customers at the front desk complaining too. The young staff member was nice, but I think the owner is running a scam. Be careful with this hotel.
