MK Premier Boutique Hotel

The location was very convenient for shopping and sightseeing, and I had plenty of time to explore. We had a nice stay in the hotel in the middle of the old quarter. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. Breakfast was really great, with plenty of vegetarian choices. The staff's service was fabulous, especially Alison, the lady at reception.

Kevin, the manager, was a real highlight. He greeted us warmly and was genuinely glad to help with whatever we needed. The staff also surprised my wife for her birthday by decorating our room, such a thoughtful gesture. We had a lovely suite with a balcony, though there was a smell when we turned on the AC. I'm sure the staff would've sorted it out, but we were busy and didn't ask them to check. The location is excellent: Beer Street is just steps away, and most of the best restaurants are within a 500-meter walk. The Old Quarter is great for a stroll too. One tip, ask for a higher floor. An Indian restaurant across the street plays loud music until around 11 PM. We were on the second floor and could hear it, making it harder to sleep early before our cruise the next day.

On all four visits during our 16-day adventure, we got a cold, refreshing, delicious welcome tea and a cold towel. The staff were phenomenal. Dylan even went out of his way on his day off to help me find a gift for my father. When a travel company mistake caused a problem as we were leaving, several staff members helped make sure we got to the airport on time. The hotel is in an excellent central spot, so you hear the overnight hustle and bustle, but that's part of the tradeoff and means less need for Grabs or taxis. Ear plugs are provided. Breakfast had a good range, the AC worked wonderfully, and our rooms were always clean. We visited in early April, and an indoor pool in future would be a welcome way to acclimate to Hanoi's heat and humidity.

On our last night, the beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. Alex at the front desk was a big help at check-in and took care of arranging our laundry. He speaks excellent English, a real asset for us as Americans. Breakfast was tasty, with a good variety, and the chef was making omelets when we came out of the elevator. There's an espresso machine, too. The little Cafe by the hotel entrance served fresh juice and a chocolate banana milkshake after we'd been out shopping midday. Everything felt perfect, and all the staff waved goodbye when we left 😊
