Nesta Hanoi Hotel - To Hien

We spent a few nights here and had a lovely, spacious room on the top floor. The en-suite was roomy and clean too. Breakfast was in a different building, just a few steps away, and the buffet had lots of delicious options. The hotel isn’t central, but reception staff were great about arranging a taxi and suggesting places to visit.

The breakfast buffet and rooms were good, but the lift was noisy enough to wake us several times. Most of the staff seemed less pleased to serve us because we’re Indian, while they were sweet with Western tourists. They didn’t refuse us service, though.

The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast had pastries, cornflakes, fruit, and salad for anyone who can’t eat meat. It’s around a ten-minute walk to the lake and not too far from the Old Quarter. The staff were lovely, especially receptionist Lian. They all spoke English, so getting things sorted was easy. I’d say it’s a good place to stay in Hanoi.

We barely managed three hours of sleep. Loud construction around the hotel ran from 11 pm until 2 am on one side, then started again at 6:30 am on the other. The whole next day was ruined. Getting a refund meant fighting with the hotel manager, and they didn’t want to compensate us.
