Sao Mai Cosy Nest Noi Bai Airport

I felt safe and comfortable traveling alone here, and the kind family who own the place took care of everything I needed. They picked me up from the airport and offered round-trip taxis into the city center for less than the Grab app. The private room was a really good price, and being close to the airport made for an easy arrival in Hanoi. I stayed a few days to sort out plans and look at hostels in central Hanoi without rushing. Highly recommend it!

The location and price make this an average stay that was OK, especially with the airport so close. Check-in went well, and someone is at the desk all the time. The bed, towels, and washroom weren't very clean, though, and the bathroom's open wall shared with the next room made it noisy. The bottles had no shampoo or body wash. I booked through Expedia.

The owner offered to pick us up, but stopped replying once I sent the address. I asked how to get there with children and luggage and heard nothing, so we had to find the hotel ourselves after already paying. They were rude from the start and put us on the fourth floor with all our bags. Later, the owner yelled at me for getting soaked in the rain and making the floor wet and dirty. After a big argument, I went to the room, but he kept yelling outside and banging on doors, all in front of my two children. We cancelled and tried to leave, then he locked the door and wouldn't let us out. A crazy experience!

The owner and her family were very kind, which is the only positive thing I can say. In room 305, the air conditioner remote didn't work, and it was stuck at full fan and the coldest setting. The top sheet was so thin that I slept in my clothes. One of my two showers had no hot water. The bathroom wall shared with the next unit doesn't reach the ceiling, so you can hear what the other person is doing. The mini fridge was broken, and although the TV turned on, it only showed a blue screen. There's also a hole in the bathroom wall, like a window without glass, so mosquitoes can fly in. I wouldn't stay here again. Spend the extra money for a better room.
