The owner was rude and showed no apology when we questioned the room change. We had booked five nights in advance, but on arrival in Hanoi were told our room had been given away. The replacement was awful: stained mattresses, drops of unidentifiable liquid on the sheets, and a window covered with cloth. We refused to stay in it, thankfully avoiding the rats, bedbugs, and other insects. If you’ve read the negative reviews, take the hint and stay away.

The bathrooms were grimy, the bins were overflowing, and there was a constant smell that made using them miserable. We were also covered in bedbugs when we woke at 4 AM. We took photos straight away and showed the staff, but got rudeness and dismissal instead of any accountability. They refused a refund or even a sincere apology, despite the photos and conditions. We lost sleep, money, and any sense that the place was hygienic or safe. The staff were hostile and ignored complaints. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, but this was the worst by far. I’d have rather slept on a park bench.

The location is really good, but I wouldn’t risk staying here for it. I booked three nights, arrived late, and left the next morning. The room was dirty and had a strange, unsettling smell. I was glad to have my sleeping bag so I didn’t need their blanket, but still couldn’t really sleep. I travel on a budget and had stayed in lots of cheap hostels, including in Vietnam, but this was the first one I had to leave. Apparently they have some way to cancel bookings so people can’t leave reviews there. I should’ve checked Google.

We left early, and I’m still waiting for a refund. After six years of travel, this was the worst stay I’ve had. A rat chewed through my bag and ruined some clothes. When I raised it, the owner was rude, blamed us, and offered to move us to a cheaper room in another building without a refund. He also kept knocking on our door and harassing us. There was no apology. The room was on the seventh floor with no elevator, and it was dirty, uncomfortable, and nothing like the photos. There was a stained old mattress in the corner and used, dirty cooking stuff. The sheets had blood on them, the blanket had mold and bugs, and there were rats. The so-called private bathroom was across the hall, shared with others, and had hair, rat droppings, and other nasty stuff. The water and electricity cut out ten minutes after check-in, then again the next day. We were without both all day in heat above 35°C. Even when the AC worked, it stayed around 27-28°C inside. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the room was really noisy. Avoid this place.

The owner handled our complaints badly. He blamed us, sent harassing messages, and tried to move us to a worse, cheaper room in another building instead of offering a proper fix. A rat chewed through my bag and clothes, and we left before our stay was over. I’m still waiting for a refund. Getting to the room was a chore, since it was on the seventh floor and there was no elevator. Upstairs, we found rats, bedbugs, blood on the sheets, moldy blankets, dirty old cooking items, and a stained mattress left in the corner. It felt like a storage room, not somewhere for guests. The water and electricity went off soon after we arrived, and again the next day. It was boiling in the room, still 27-28°C with the AC running. The bathroom was outside the room and shared, and the supposed private pool was filthy with hair, dust, and who knows what. Easily the worst place I’ve stayed in after hundreds of trips. Avoid it.
