The room quality and upkeep weren't great. There were holes in the wallpaper, the shower room needed a proper clean, and ants were wandering around. The bed wasn't especially comfortable either. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7 a.m., but there was no food when I went down at 7:45. It came out at 8, and although the food was fine, it was served when ready rather than as a buffet. This hotel seems geared toward backpackers, so I wouldn't recommend it for a business trip. If room quality isn't a big concern and you want to be near the market, it might suit you. I've stayed at better A&EM hotels very close by.

You can get a decent bed for an affordable price, but the bathroom is small and stained all over. Breakfast is basic. Ben Thanh market is close by, where you can find more delicious street food to fill up on. Really, it's the location that this place has going for it.

We booked two nights and ended up leaving without getting a refund. There were worms and lizards in the room on the first night. After we asked to switch, they put us in a superior room on the fourth floor the next day. Then, in the middle of the night, a bat was flying above our bed. Security came and killed it, but the hotel still refused to refund us. The worst experience ever. There are bats and insects here. Avoid this place and find a clean room elsewhere.

Ben Thanh market is right nearby, which is a real plus, and the room itself was clean. But mine had no windows, and the air conditioning and extractor fans were so loud they sounded like jet engines. The whole place felt worn out and badly in need of maintenance.

The breakfast wasn't worth recommending, and the room looked different from the photos. It's an old building. The day staff weren't very friendly when we checked in. It was fine just for sleeping, but not what we expected for a two-night holiday.
