AHA Residence Hotel

I've stayed here twice, and both times it was quiet and I slept well. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had the essentials. The young man and woman at reception were friendly and accommodating. They even let me bring a stool up from the lobby when I needed another chair. It's handy for a short stay in Bình Thạnh district, north of the city, and still not too far from the center. Good value, and more comfortable than some other budget places, in my opinion.

I arrived with a reservation, but they wouldn't check me in because they said the hotel was full. There had been five rooms available when I booked. I showed them my confirmation, but they still said there were no rooms left. When I asked for a refund, they told me to handle it through the vendor and offered no accommodation. The woman simply walked away, leaving me alone in the lobby.

The view and location were great, and the room was spacious, but management was poor. At first I was given a smaller room without a view, unlike the booking photos, and had to complain to get the right room. In the sixth-floor Deluxe Room, there was no hot water, the lighting had problems, and the TV didn't work. The bedroom, bathroom, and fridge were extremely dirty. There was a cockroach in the room, and the sheets hadn't been changed: I saw hairs on the bed sheet and stains on the pillowcases. During my four-day stay, the housekeeper came on the third and fourth days at 8 AM without knocking. They said they'd return at noon but didn't, so I had no housekeeping service for the whole stay. A mouse also chewed through my motorbike wire overnight, leaving me with repair costs and having to park elsewhere. It may look cheap at first, but poor upkeep and extra costs made it not worth it. Avoid.

The room was old and very dirty, and they let me check in without cleaning it. The hotel owner was extremely unpleasant and dismissive. Please don't stay here.
