Azumaya Le Thanh Ton

The table in the room works well for getting some work done, and the hotel is in the middle of the city at a good price. It's on the Japanese street in Hcm. Breakfast is included, with several choices. My favorite was udon with orange juice, and there were free drinks in the fridge. They bring room service in the morning around 8-10. For an extra charge, you can get clothes washed and dried in one day. The towels were the best quality I've ever seen. The staff were polite and attentive, and they spoke English without translation apps. There are lots of Japanese channels on the big screen, along with a few international ones like BBC, CNN, and HBO. There's also a smoking room option, even though it has a smoke alarm system inside, so you can still smoke there. The service was good too.

The izakaya bar downstairs is small, so I almost regret telling people about it. The food is great, with regular outstanding specials that are all small snack meals, and the beer and Japanese sake and whisky are cheap. Highly recommend the bar. I can't speak to the hotel.

I haven't tried the food, so this is just about the drinks and atmosphere. The bar is open late with a late-night menu, around 50 kinds of sake, and Sapporo on tap. There's a Japanese bartender, plus Japanese-speaking and English-speaking staff. It's downstairs from the hotel, with its own entrance, and any connection between the two seems pretty tenuous.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, and the hotel feels quite central. It’s tucked into a corner of the street, so it’s quiet and clean. The price is good for the basic amenities, and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
