Centana Hotel & Apartments

The replacement at Centara Saigon Hotel was a clear downgrade from the Centara Hotel & Apartments I’d booked through Agoda for October 1-8, 2025. The original was rated 4.6 on Google, while the replacement was rated 3.3. The substitute room was old and poorly maintained, noisy from construction inside and outside, and had an uncomfortable bed. Its stained, torn linens weren’t changed during housekeeping. I later found at least one other traveler who’d been moved in the exact same way. I’d chosen the booking because it was described as “newly built” and had a 4.6 Google rating. On arrival, staff said my room had a “plumbing issue” and moved me to the other hotel. They showed photos of a clean, modern alternative, but the room was very different in reality. Since I’d paid in full for a specific advertised standard that wasn’t provided, I suspect this could be a way to free up better rooms for walk-ins or higher-paying guests. If you book, confirm your room is ready before you arrive, and refuse relocation to Centara Saigon Hotel.
