For the most part, this condo gives residents much more space than the one back in my country. It also has amenities, a park, grocery stores, restaurants and a play area. The concerns I have are about security and some guards. Like in my country and elsewhere, building staff can cause trouble for tenants or homeowners. I’ve seen other reviews mention guards bullying or mocking people, and one guard’s behavior made me feel that way too. Even though we have an elevator access card, this guard sometimes rushes to open the elevator and scans his own card, or tells people not to get in. Other times, after we’ve already scanned our card, he runs up and scans his as well. He says something and laughs each time. I told my children he might just be inattentive, but honestly it feels like he’s making fun of us. During breaks, some guards smoke where people have to walk, near the main door. It’s difficult to avoid breathing it in, especially with our newborn baby and small children. Today, when we came through the main entrance, two guards were standing there and blocking more than half the way. One was the same guard. They narrowed the passage and didn’t move, though they could see people trying to get through. Someone also told us the place isn’t safe despite having security. People can get in without an elevator card if they ask someone to scan one, as happened to my wife. I also think it’s a problem that there’s no CCTV in the building hallways, only in the elevators. We were told that people sometimes knock, then enter when you open the door. We also heard that a neighbor, a retired police officer, might be spying. I don’t understand why we’re supposed to be wary of a retired police officer, or why he would spy. Maybe it’s because there’s a rumor that my father-in-law opposed the Vietnamese government, and he is currently detained. Remember, Vietnam is a communist country. We’re only living here temporarily, but I hope things improve. As a Christian, I’m not afraid, but I think it’s better to stay away, expose wickedness and rebuke it. I know from the Holy Scriptures that evil people exist wherever you go. The one we should truly fear isn’t someone who can only kill the body, but God, who can destroy both body and soul for eternity. The Scriptures say God will destroy those who do evil to you when He returns to judge the world. Update, 07/03/2025: The guard I mentioned did it again today. I see this as a security breach for the residents here. There are thousands of residents in one block or building, so it means he’s been monitoring us and breaching both security protocol and residents’ privacy.

It’s a peaceful place to stay and feel at home, with a park almost a kilometer long. Pets are allowed, though the apartment is getting old.

It’s safe to live at Era Town, but it’s always noisy. There are lots of apartments here.
