G8 Le Van Sy Hotel Saigon

The room was tiny, dirty, and nothing like the photos. There was no kitchen despite it being shown in the pictures, and the only lighting was a harsh fluorescent tube. During my one-week stay, the hallways were part of an active construction site with constant noise, and the power went out several times. This was the worst place I've stayed in during more than a year of traveling and living in Vietnam. Be careful with the Google reviews too, many seem fake and appear to review only G8 properties. Stay away.

It’s a good place overall, though the gate is locked at 10 PM for security. That’s inconvenient when I want to go out and buy food later. It would be nice if they added a water dispenser in the future.

The staff are really nice and helpful, and the room has everything you need. There’s plenty of good food and shopping nearby, and the area feels local with fewer tourists. It’s not too far from the city center either.

The reception staff were polite and very helpful. My room itself was fine, though rooms beside the elevator have a locked window that lets corridor light in, making the room too bright at night.
