Galang Hotel

The rooms and hotel are super clean, and the staff are warm, friendly, and always happy to help. Galang Hotel is a small, cozy place just off Hai Ba Trung, one of the city's main arteries, with a peaceful feel that suits a short or long stay. Local restaurants, cafes, and shops are all around it. Some tourists staying only a few days may expect Sheraton-level service, but that's not what this hotel is. I'd give it six stars if I could. Solid five from me, highly recommended.

I went to check in at the hotel next door within a minute and had no hassle. Here, the owner seemed focused on making extra money and tried to charge for everything. Even paying with a local Vietnamese card came with an extra fee, which was ridiculous. In response to the comment: you are the “owner”; you decided on and made the rules, so don't say you weren't the one who made them.

If you want to extend your stay, they make you check out at 12 and return after 2 pm, or pay 200k to check in earlier, even when the room is ready and empty. The owner was very greedy and not helpful at all. The service was very poor, and there are much better hotels nearby, so I wouldn't recommend staying here.

They wouldn't let me into the room I'd booked because my visa expired the next day, even though it was indicated as valid until midnight on its final day. :^(
