La Doma en Adagio - Sleep and Heal

The staff were lovely and the room was clean, but those are the only positives I can mention. I spent 3-4 days in HCMC expecting a sweet little boutique hotel where I could get away from the city chaos. It didn’t work out that way. My ground-floor room had no window, which made me feel uncomfortable, like I was living in a cave. The Booking.com description didn’t mention this, and you naturally assume a room has a window. The pillows were rock hard and gave me back pain, the shower flooded the whole bathroom, and I didn’t like the decor. The walls were so thin that I could hear people coughing, as well as staff talking and working in the hallway. The location was okay, but restaurants and attractions were quite a walk away. It was a disappointing stay, and I wish I’d asked for another room or switched hotels. It made my trip a little worse.

I only had one night here and wish it could have been longer. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked. There are lots of good places to eat within walking distance, so it was easy to explore the convenient location. The staff made the biggest difference. They were friendly, helpful, and spoke English, which made things easier. When I needed to contact a local number about my lost item, they patiently helped call and sort it out until it was safely returned. Special thanks to the two staff members who helped me that day. I think their names were Catherine and Vinh, and I’m sorry if I got them wrong. They were so lovely and helpful. I’d definitely come back.

Khanh and Thuan at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and their advice made the stay even better. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely book here again next time!

My three-night booking at La Doma was canceled by the manager while I was flying to HCMC because I hadn’t replied to their emails. I spoke with other customers and staff, and it seemed this happens often, without much care for customer service or people’s wellbeing. It was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, and left me searching for somewhere else at midnight. The entrance is in a dark alley, and the hotel seemed more like a 2-star place than the 4-star or 5-star hotel advertised.
