LalaHouse Summer Park

I was very disappointed with LalaHouse’s service. I came with my family and two children under 2. My flight was at 11pm, so I asked if we could check out at 8pm. They said that was fine and charged me extra to stay until then. But on the last day, they gave me only an hour’s notice to pack and leave at 11am, even though I’d already paid for the extension. When I asked why we couldn’t stay until 8pm, they lied and blamed the police. The guests in the room next door told me it had nothing to do with the police, another guest just wanted to check in at 2pm. I panicked trying to find a room because I had to leave with two children in an hour. A kind housekeeper helped out. Thanks to her.

The air conditioning was adequate, though it didn’t cool evenly. The rooms looked better in the photos than they were, and when it rained, water came in everywhere. Traffic noise was very noticeable, and signs blocked the outside windows. Despite the recent renovation, the finish was substandard throughout. There was very little cutlery or tableware. On our third day, we had to move from 208 because of leaks, but room 103 wasn’t much better and had terrible lighting, especially in the toilet and shower. The entry keypad system was frustrating to use, and we were given the wrong code on the first night. As a traveler from Australia, I expected better and wouldn’t usually complain, but I couldn’t stay quiet about this. It was a bad choice by a third party for us. The shower also took some working out.

Spacious rooms with nice amenities, and good value for the price. There’s a 24/7 convenience store downstairs for late night cravings. The location is amazing, right in the heart of HCMC, halfway between the airport and the bustling District 1. The host is super responsive and nice.

We paid around 450k vnd for one night, but didn’t get what we paid for. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator, so we carried everything up. The staff didn’t offer to help. There were separate passwords for 3-4 layers of doors, which was slow and annoying, especially in the drizzle. The parking was confusing without instructions. It took me 20 minutes to open another door, and the parking was around 50m away, not part of the building. We left our motorbike in front of GS25 all day without anyone watching it. The room had a stove but hardly any kitchenware: a pan, pot, two small plates, two pairs of chopsticks, and one spoon. If you call it a kitchen, please provide the basics for cooking. There was only one trash bag, with no replacement. The room setup wasn’t very customer friendly. At the same price, I highly recommend Riverside Apartment ( Truong Sa Street), which offers free laundry and much more space. The one good thing here was that they lent us an umbrella when it was raining. Sorry, but it wasn’t worth the price.
