Lotus Hotel 18 Nguyen Phi Khanh

A very good hotel in a convenient location. The staff, especially Hung, My Pham, and Thanh Le, were very helpful.

I spent 11 nights here. The room was clean, and the bed was a little hard. With my bad back, though, that actually helped. I chose a balcony room at first without realizing how loud it would be outside. Drivers in Vietnam seem to honk every second, and I could barely sleep the first night. I asked to move away from the street, and the second room was much better. The owner was very nice and helpful, and the receptionists were friendly too. Each morning the owner asked if I wanted housekeeping, which was nice since some small hotels like this don't offer daily service. I also got two free bottles of water every day. The bathroom water temperature was unpredictable. It was warm on the first day, cooler over the next two, warm again one day, then nearly cool from the following day until I left. The location was convenient, with restaurants, hair and nail salons, banks, coffee shops, and massage spas nearby, as well as tourist spots. My room was on the fourth floor. On my last night there was a thunderstorm, and I had an early flight the next morning. The elevator wasn't working when I left, so I made four trips up and down the stairs carrying my three suitcases. Quite a workout. I messaged the owner at the airport to tell him about the elevator, and he was very apologetic. I understood, since sometimes things happen that are out of our control. If you just need somewhere to sleep while you're out exploring all day, I highly recommend this hotel.

Right on the main road, so it can be a bit noisy throughout the day. The rooms are kept in good shape, though they're somewhat dated and compact. The reception responds quickly, and for what I paid, it was worth it. A good stay overall.

The location worked really well, and everyone was friendly. Hung at reception was especially helpful. I’d happily stay here again when I’m back in HCMC.
