Otis Soho Saigon Balcony Apartment

The apartment itself is good, but the staff and service are bad. There’s no cleaning, and they didn’t even provide water after the checking date. Guests face a lot of rules without getting service in return. Parking was listed as included in the booing, but I still had to pay. Smoking isn’t allowed and there’s a fine for it. The rooms are small, and although early checking is advertised, I wasn’t allowed to do it. The balcony view wasn’t good either, and the building next door was under construction, with a lot of daytime noise.

The owner was quick to respond and helped with everything. The room was in good condition overall, though the bed was a bit old and uncomfortable. The location in district 1 was great, and it was easy to find food marts nearby.

The bed sheet and cup cover were dirty, and I even found ants on the bed. We couldn't sleep properly because of the poor hygiene and constant itching. When we reported it, staff came to the room and tried to charge us by force instead of fixing anything. The owner kept making excuses and wouldn't admit the mistake. For a hotel at this price, that's unacceptable. Very disappointing, definitely not recommended.

The area right around the apartment was unpleasant and dirty, though it's reasonably close to a street with nightlife. More seriously, the construction site next door is as tall as the apartment and completely blocks the skyline view shown in the photos. That view was a major reason my daughter and I chose the place, and the furnishings and decor didn't match the pictures either. When I raised this with the check-in staff member, he was rude and forceful, and seemed willing to leave a family with young children stranded. After I had paid on booking.com, staff cancelled my reservation, apparently to prevent a negative review.
