The air conditioning barely cooled the room in Ho Chi Minh City’s heat, and the nights felt hot and humid. It only added to the stale, trapped air. Dust covered surfaces, corners, and even the bedding, making the place feel neglected and poorly cleaned. There was also a heavy damp smell, like wet lumber or a closed storage room, that never really went away. Though Queen Central Hotel near Ben Thanh Market may look convenient and cheap, the actual stay felt claustrophobic and far from comfortable or clean. If saving money is your only concern, it might appeal, but there are better options nearby. I wouldn’t stay here again.

My family room’s air conditioning wasn’t working, so it felt really hot. My sister asked the front desk to move us, but the staff member said every room was occupied and wouldn’t fix the unit either. When she asked for a refund, he refused, saying the manager wouldn’t allow one for this situation. The staff and manager were very rude. Your hotel failed us, and the service was terrible. Shame on you.

The only person who showed good service was the man who carried our bags. The room was old, cleanliness was maybe 6/10, and the triple room felt cramped, about 7/10. The male staff member was rude, didn’t smile, and seemed to scold me for filling in my phone number on the registration sheet while he had my phone. I couldn’t fill it in because I couldn’t remember my Vietnamese number. My mom and I also asked how much it would cost in USD, and he replied with a mean look, asking what I meant. So annoying.

I came back after my activities and found the room still messy and not cleaned at all. They’d only left bug spray, and I was confused about why. Earlier that morning, I’d told reception there was a bug that had bitten me and asked to change rooms. The staff member said they just needed to clean it, so I agreed. I didn’t want to waste more time there, so I booked another hotel and requested an immediate checkout. I was very disappointed with the service.
