The location is the main reason to stay here. Everything you need, including food, is behind the property, and a 15-minute walk over the bridge gets you to some nice artsy shops, like ram hair dressing, Karoke and jellyfish jewlert. The security guard was wonderful and the owners were helpful. Check-in and check-out instructions were clear, and when our flight was delayed until 3am, the guard helped us a lot. There was a fan and air conditioning, but we didn’t use the aircon because it made our throats hurt. The room was just about sufficient, but it needs major improvement before I’d consider staying again. There’s no toilet ventilation, no window or fan, and by the second day the bathroom was unbearable. It had a strong chemical smell, like Nair hair removal, even though we followed the instructions. Cleaning seemed very minimal. The sink and bathroom buckets were full of water, the sink had odd stains, and the sheet felt dirty and had gunk on it. It kept coming off and exposing a dirty mattress. The fan was very dusty, and the room didn’t feel clean.

I stayed here while getting treatment at a nearby hospital, and the location made things easy. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the hospital and close to the center too. The owner and housekeeper were both very kind, helpful, and accommodating. They made me feel welcome and looked after. I’d seen some negative reviews beforehand, but I thought they were exaggerated. My room was clean, fresh, and comfortable, with no bad smell and no problem with heat. There’s an elevator, and I was on the third floor. Parking motorbikes was manageable. I’ve lived in Viet Nam for eight years and didn’t see an issue with it. If you’re easygoing and want somewhere calm, simple, affordable, and well located with kind people, I think you’ll like it. Some people just seem to enjoy complaining. I did enjoy my stay and will come back in the future. Thank you so much!

The room had a nice setup and lots of space, and the host was very accommodating. Still, the smell was bad enough that I went out and bought air freshener, which didn’t help. There were two fans and an air conditioner, but the room stayed hot. Maybe that’s why the bedding was only a sheet, with no blankets. Don’t forget to take out your own rubbish. Parking was the worst I’ve dealt with in three trips to Vietnam. I had to open the door halfway, move the motorbike, open it a little farther, move the bike again, and keep repeating that. In the end I locked the bars and left the bike outside. The room was really nice, but the smell, heat, and lack of proper blankets put this place near the bottom for me. The first two things could be fixed, but nothing will fix the parking.

Getting to District 1 by Uber costs about $vnd40000 on a bike. The location is a 3, close to the main street, Phan xich Long, with restaurants and caphe nearby. The room was spacious but old, with old bed sheets and pillows. There’s no ventilation in the toilet, no lift, and the riverside rooms are noisy. Prices have gone up since the pandemic.

Breakfast was brought to my room in the morning. The bed could still be softer, though. I woke up at least twice in one night. Given they’re doing their best during the pandemic, I count that as a plus.
