Riverside Hotel

We found the rates very reasonable, especially with breakfast included, so even though breakfast was pretty average, it felt like good value. Our room was enormous and had all the usual facilities. The rooftop bar was really cute, and we enjoyed relaxing there with a drink in the afternoon and looking out along the river. The hotel has a lot of character in its beautiful old French-style building. It’s very close to Nguyen Hue Walking Street, making the main sights around Ho Chi Minh City easy to explore on foot. The lobby can get a bit noisy because it’s right on the main road. There’s also construction along the riverfront at the moment, but it didn’t affect our stay too much.

They brought fresh bottled water, coffee sticks, and tea bags every day, and cleaned the room without us asking. The towels were quite clean, the hot water had sufficient flow, and the AC cooled the room well. The doormen always greeted us coming and going. Breakfast had enough variety and was delicious. Great location and great room service. I’ll come back, thanks.

The location was the one good thing. The shower had almost no pressure, the bed was hard as a rock, and the breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel was miserable. This place is a dump and a nightmare. I was here with an Intrepid Tour, and they really need to change hotels.

Nobody seemed to understand what I wanted, and it was impossible to get into the pool. At check-in, which happened outside, no one spoke English. When I reached my room, staff had taken five of my suitcases out of it. If you value your nerves, do NOT stay here.
