S Lux Apartment

Our taxi took us to the exact address on the Booking Receipt. When we called the number there, Representative-1, who spoke a little English, sent Representative-2 to meet us. She didn't speak English at all. Representative-2 walked us about 500 meters with our heavy bags to a room whose window was only 2-3 meters from another building's windows. She first said we could refuse it and leave. We asked politely to see another room, since Booking.com showed four more available, but she said none were actually available. When we said we'd cancel and asked for five minutes to find somewhere nearby, she told us we'd be fined if we cancelled. In my opinion, this realtor needs to make the address and descriptions more accurate so tourists aren't misled.

I've stayed three times because the location is great and the rooms are usually good. But twice I was told there was a problem with my allocated room, so I had to switch rooms during my stay, and getting pool access is always an issue. There are also odd, unspoken expectations for short stays, like being told to say I was booked for a different period if anyone asked. Something always seems to fall short, though they are quick to take the money. Other places are more upfront. Don't be taken in by the website offer, it never seems to work in your favor.

The room was smaller than the photos suggested, with an uncomfortable bed and terrible bathroom facilities. We also saw signs saying Airbnb is prohibited, and were told we couldn't use facilities like the gym, which felt completely unreasonable. The night before check-in, the host messaged us on WhatsApp asking us to cancel our Booking.com reservation and pay cash. Once we arrived, there was no clear contact person. The person meant to meet us was late, then insisted we set a time to hand over cash while we were out sightseeing. It was very inconvenient and disruptive. A terrible stay that almost ruined our trip. I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place.

The room reeked of cigarettes, which was awful for a non-smoker and a toddler. There was hair all over the floor, and the cleaning lady came in with a sticky lint roller to pick it up 😂. The staff member who showed us the room wasn't very friendly and spoke no English, but the support chat was helpful. They let us cancel and waived the fee.
