Saigon Central Hostel

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was dirty, with hair and dirty water in the bathtub and a used tissue on the floor. The whole place felt run down, the elevator smelled, and the room had a strange odor too. I messaged them about the problems and got no reply. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

The hotel is within walking distance of several key attractions, and the room we moved to was spacious and enjoyable. On our first night, though, we were put in a room with significant mould on one wall. Staff moved us to a nicer room the next day, where there was still some mould, but much less. They were attentive when we needed help with the air conditioning and bathroom supplies. It would help if they stocked more than one toilet roll at a time and replenished it regularly. One night the shower wouldn’t work properly or maintain enough water pressure at a showerable temperature. It also sprayed water all over the bathroom, so a shower curtain would help.

The staff were nice, but the place itself was a dump and nothing matched the listing. The Google Maps photos weren’t of this hotel or its rooms at all, and the rooms were gross. We were kept awake all night by noise. They promise soundproof windows, but that claim is a lie.

They kept me waiting a very long time before anyone served me, and then pressured me for a tip even though I was unhappy with the service and treatment. I’ve been to plenty of massage parlors, but this one was awful. The space was cramped, the technicians were sloppy and unprofessional, and the massage technique was so poor I could have done it myself. Terrible service.
