For the price, this was good value. My room was spacious, clean and well organised, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The ground floor dining area served breakfast in the morning and worked as a restaurant at night, with food to suit most tastes. Facilities were good, and the wifi was surprisingly good for a hotel in Vietnam. It seems like two hotels around the corner from each other have joined into one L-shaped venue. The location is near the Japanese Quarter, with a bit of entertainment from visiting salarymen getting into tame mischief. Bars, cafes and restaurants are close, and the best known malls, markets and tourist activities are an easy walk. The pool is on the roof of one building, so from the other side you have to take the lift down, cross the lobby and go back up. When I visited in Dec., '22, it had just been renovated, and a new gym and social area were nearly finished. There was also a friendly dog called Poor Paw living up there somehow.

There were cockroaches everywhere. Don’t be surprised if you bring an infestation home. The photos are misleading: Agoda showed a VIP room to sell us a deluxe room. Maybe it was a mistake, but it still felt like a scam. We didn’t get a full window, just a tiny one facing either the corridor or a wall. The hotel didn’t help sort it out and only tried to upsell us. It’s awful to feel cornered into paying more as the only way to resolve a problem.

The reception guy’s manner felt very coercive, so I won’t book this hotel again. It’s also a little less convenient now: last year there were two gates, but one of them has since been closed.
