Ninh Binh Mountain Side Homestay & Cafe

I was really happy to have a bike, and the owners were helpful with everything. My spacious room had two balconies and a lovely mountain view. The place had a relaxed feel and sat in a quiet area, with restaurants and shops just around the corner. Highly recommended!

The staff were so friendly and happy to point us toward tours, massages, bike rentals, food, or whatever else we asked about. The rooms were super clean, and there were lots of activities and beautiful sights nearby. I’d happily come back.

There are spacious rooms, lots of outdoor spots to relax, a lovely pool, and a pool table. Bikes cost 50K for the whole stay, which was great value, and the family can arrange motorbike rental and laundry too. They’re very sweet and offer great service. The homestay is a little outside Tam Coc, so evenings are quieter, though the village has plenty of food options. They didn’t have a chef for the evening restaurant during our visit, so we only got to eat there once, at the family dinner.

We had breakfast at the homestay each morning, but couldn’t try the evening meals or the family-style dinner we’d been looking forward to because the usual chef wasn’t there. That meant going elsewhere for lunch and dinner, which was a bit inconvenient on rainy evenings. There was also construction right beside the homestay. One day brought a lot of hammering and drilling, though it was quieter for the rest of the week. It wasn’t a major problem for us, but could matter if you want complete quiet or need to work. We stayed seven nights and quickly felt at ease with Alex, his lovely family, and their two dogs and a cat. The homestay has a stylish but rustic design and a warm, homely feel, with good value for money. The pool area was a highlight, with loungers and plenty of seating. The location worked well, with restaurants and cafés nearby, Tam Coc within walking distance, and the main attractions easy to reach by Grab, bike, or motorbike. We also enjoyed long walks through the beautiful countryside. On arrival, we got a useful map and lots of suggestions for Ninh Binh. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. I work remotely and had no trouble using the shared Wi-Fi for meetings. Alex even brought me a chair and table, and during a three-hour power cut affecting the whole neighbourhood, lent me his internet hotspot so I could keep working. Aside from that outage, electricity and internet stayed stable and reliable.
