Tam Coc Lakeside Homestay

The location made getting around easy: The Water Loop, Buffalo Cave, and Bich Dong Pagoda are close, and Tam Coc main strip is only a five minute drive away. We had a lovely stay, with a clean, comfortable room, good breakfast served from 7-9:30am, and tasty restaurant food. The staff were friendly and accommodating. One of our group was having trouble with the bikes after a long time away from cycling, and they tried to help. When we decided to walk instead, they kindly took the bikes back inside for us. We’d definitely recommend it.

The owners took such good care of us and helped us out in lots of ways during our trip. We’re really grateful and would love to return someday. The place itself is beautiful, and our room was clean and tidy.

We spent a week here and felt right at home, thanks in large part to the kind, helpful family. The surroundings were lovely, with trees and flowers that attracted birds and butterflies. In the early morning I’d wake to birdsong, and I slept well in the comfortable bed. The house was very clean, with good AC and fast WiFi; the bathroom, built into the rock and furnished beautifully, was stunning. Breakfast was fresh and very good. I rented a bicycle at a good price, and they did a great job washing my laundry. They also arrange trips to different places. I can absolutely recommend this homestay. Thank you so much!

I went to Lakeside Homestay to rent a bicycle after the hostel next door recommended it. The first bike I was handed had poor brakes. Since I’d had an accident before, I politely explained my concern and asked for another. The man said rudely that it was the only one available, although I could see around eight more bikes behind him. I left to look elsewhere but couldn’t find another place, so I returned. This time I got the same model with working brakes, and thought the issue was settled. When it was time to pay, he told me to bring the bike back to that same location. I agreed and explained I was staying at the hostel next door, so I’d return it exactly where he’d asked. He suddenly started shouting, repeating the instruction even though I’d been agreeing all along. I tried to stay calm, but he then pushed me out of the house. I was shocked, upset, and a bit scared. That aggression was heartbreaking, especially when I’d been respectful. I wondered whether he would have treated me the same way if I were a man. I don’t recommend this place. There are other respectful businesses in the area that deserve support.
