The Melbourne Hotel

It felt like a second home, and I wouldn’t even look for another place to stay next time I’m there. This family-run property suits families, couples, and solo travelers, and gives you a real taste of everyday life in Vietnam. Breakfast comes from a few choices, cooked fresh after you order, and they bring out fresh fruit too. The hosts are happy to help with directions and places to see. Their English communication was great for someone like me who speaks very little Vietnamese.

The staff were easygoing, reliable, and welcoming, and helped me arrange tours, book train tickets, and get around Ninh Binh during my three days and two nights at Melbourne Hotel. I was also impressed by the room, which felt on par with a high-standard European hotel. They greeted me with a warm welcome and a cold, fresh orange juice. Highly recommend.

The breakfast was delicious, and both the room and the staff made the stay comfortable. The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was surprisingly comfortable. This place is a great find in a more rural part of Ninh Binh. A scooter makes it easy to reach Mua Caves, Tam Coc, temples, and other nearby activities, and the downtown area is a short cab ride away.

A quiet spot if you’re looking for some peace, with friendly staff and large rooms. There’s a table and chair for working on a notebook, plus a fridge or minibar and a kettle. The bathroom was nice too, as you can see in my pictures. You’ll need a motorbike to get around, or a taxi, Grab, or private driver, which they can arrange. Restaurants and shops aren’t right nearby, but they’re within walking distance. Recommended.
